Enter the other person’s city and the hours they can take calls or read email. The tool shows the times in your day when you can contact them. Daylight saving time is applied automatically, and it works for contacting Japan from abroad too.
Your location is picked from your device's time setting. Change it if it is wrong. The list shows one representative city for each standard-time meridian. Search by name to find any other city, country, or region.
Enter hours in their local time. You can add several. Ranges that cross midnight, such as 22:00–02:00, also work.
If none is set, 09:00–18:00 is used as a guide.
It starts with the next 21:00 as an example. Enter another date and time to check it. If "Now" looks wrong, check "Your location" above.
How to Use
- Check “Your location”. It is filled in from your device. If it is wrong, change it with the list or the search box.
- Choose “Their location”. The list shows one representative city for each standard time. Search by name for other cities and countries.
- Under “Their Preferred Hours”, enter the hours they can be contacted, in their local time. You can add several and choose the days.
- Under “Check a Time”, see whether now, and a date and time you choose, are good times to contact them.
- In the bar chart under “Times That Work”, see when in your day you can contact them.
How to Read the Chart
- Green: within their preferred hours. A good time to contact them.
- Red hatching: 22:00 to 07:00 in their local time. Best avoided unless you entered it as a preferred hour.
- Gray: outside their preferred hours, but not night or early morning.
- The white line is now. The blue line is the time you chose.
Numbers above the bar are your time. Numbers below are their time. “prev day” and “next day” show that their date differs from yours.
FAQ
Is daylight saving time applied?
Yes. The tool calculates from the time data in your browser, so it switches each city’s daylight saving time automatically. When the UTC label says “DST”, daylight saving time is in effect. If a country has just changed its switch dates, an old browser may be off.
Can I enter hours that cross midnight?
Yes. Set the end earlier than the start, such as 22:00–02:00, and it is treated as running into the next day. If the start and end are the same, it means all day.
Are my entries saved?
They are saved in the browser on your device only when you press “Save These Settings” at the bottom of the tool. If you do not press it, nothing is saved. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere. After you save, your cities and preferred hours are still there next time. “Delete Saved Settings” removes the saved data.
I cannot find my city.
Choose another city in the same country. If the country has one time zone, the result is the same. For a country with several time zones, choose a nearby city.
Can I change the night and early-morning range?
It is fixed at 22:00 to 07:00 in their local time for now.
Public holidays and the other person’s own circumstances are not reflected. For an important contact, check with them first.
Daylight saving time is applied automatically. Calculations run in your browser, and saved settings stay only on this device. Country and region names are used only to search for time zones and do not express any political position.
